Greenheart TreeWalk

For adventure lovers, we recommend the Greenheart TreeWalk. Located in the UBC Botanical Garden, the walk features a suspended canopy walkway, allowing a view of Vancouver’s coastal temperate rainforest. If you’d like some guidance along this adventure, tours are also offered for groups of 10+ participants.

Pacific Spirit Park

Living in the UBC area comes with many unique perks, like being steps away from Pacific Spirit Park! Now that it’s warmer, meet friendly neighbours and get your steps in by joining our Saturday walking group starting on May 6th, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Whether you frequent the park trails or want to begin exploring, we’re excited to have you join us! All ages and pets are welcome.

Wreck Beach

Last, but not least of our outdoor recommendations, is the famous Wreck Beach. Although it’s a little cold for a dip in the ocean, Spring is the perfect time to walk down the beach’s staircase for some cardio. Have a picnic and watch the sunset (or sunrise for the early birds!). Fair warning, the beach is clothing-optional, so ensure you’re comfortable with this before trekking down!

Maybe You Prefer Being Indoors! In That Case…

Moris and Helen Belkin Art Gallery

Home to a wide range of contemporary art, the Morris and Helen Belkin Art Gallery contains more than 5,000 artworks and 20,000 archive items relating to the post-war history of art in Vancouver. The Belkin’s goal is to promote discussion and debate on the subject of contemporary art.

💡 Mini tip: Admission is free and tours are available for booking.

Beaty Biodiversity Museum

Have you ever walked down Main Mall and seen a giant skeleton in a glass building? That would be the Beaty Biodiversity Museum. The skeleton is that of the blue whale, the largest creature to live on Earth. The museum features a variety of biological connections showcasing bird and insect wildlife. Don’t forget to visit the gift shop on your way out!

💡 Mini Tip: Admission is free for UBC students and $14 for the general public!
